The Luna EFT 1 Payment HSM is moving to end of sale following the release earlier this year of the Luna EFT 2. This announcement relates to all versions of Luna EFT 1. The last day to order the affected product(s) will be April 29, 2016. Customers with active maintenance contracts will continue to receive support from Gemalto as outlined in this announcement.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in the following table:

Luna EFT 1 customers are encouraged to migrate to Luna EFT 2. In addition to providing full backwards compatibility with previous generations of SafeNet and Eracom payment HSMs, Luna EFT 2 offers:
- Standard web-based remote management
- Higher performance – up to 2000 payment operations per second
- Hot-swap dual power supplies as standard
- PCI-HSM version 2.0 certification
