End of Sale PEAP Agent for SAS PCE & SafeNet Trusted Access (STA)

As part of our ongoing investment in improving the user experience and capabilities of our solutions we are announcing End of Sale for the PEAP Agent for SAS PCE and SafeNet Trusted Access to be effective as of August 31, 2022.

This EOS announcement is relevant for SAS PCE and SafeNet Trusted Access customers who are using PEAP Agent for SAS PCE and SafeNet Trusted Access.

The PEAP Agent for SAS PCE and SafeNet Trusted Access is being replaced by SafeNet FreeRADIUS Agent v3.x, which enables support for PEAP based authentication. Customers can download this agent from the Thales Support Portal – KB0024323.

Alternatively, SafeNet Trusted Access RADIUS service provides inbuilt support for PEAP protocol without the need for an agent.

The SafeNet FreeRADIUS Agent v3.x offers the following benefits:

  • PEAP Support on latest supported versions of FreeRADIUS (v3.x)
  • Streamlined the solution deployment
  • Eliminates the redundancy of managing multiple agents for similar functionality

Key dates for the EOS process

Milestone Date Description
END-OF-SALES (EOS) August 31, 2022 Agent will no longer be available for download from the Thales support portal, and from the SAS PCE package.
END-OF-LIFE (EOL) August 31, 2023  
END-OF-SUPPORT August 31, 2023 Support expires at this date
