We are pleased to announce the release of the IDPrime MD 840, the first contact smart card fully certified for eIDAS. The IDPrime MD 840 is fully supported by IDGo 800 v1.2.5 and later, and will be supported by SafeNet Authentication Client 10.1. It implements many security features that allow for various cryptographic-based use cases such as two-factor authentication, digital signature, data encryption and secure network access. In addition, the card is Plug & Play with Windows.

The new Regulation on Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions in the Internal Market (eIDAS) is the European Regulation created to ensure a safe way for businesses, governments and citizens to do business online and includes rules for electronic signatures. The IDPrime 840 meets the Common Criteria (CC) certification pre-requisite for qualified digital signatures under eIDAS.
