Thales is proud to announce a significant enhancement to the Data Protection on Demand (DPoD) cloud marketplace: FIDO (Fast Identity Online)
token authentication is now supported for hardware-based login to the DPoD Marketplace.
This upgrade strengthens DPoD’s secure logon process with phishing-resistant, hardware-backed authentication. This gives users greater flexibility in their choice in authentication methods and a superior login experience.
Why It Matters
Users can now access their DPoD environments using FIDO-compliant hardware tokens, including Thales’ own FIDO tokens and a range of other compatible FIDO-certified devices.
Supported applications include the following:
Bitwarden, 1Password, Dashlane, LastPass, KeePass, Enpass, and Apple/Microsoft built-in applications.
By leveraging the FIDO standard, DPoD now enables:
- Simple, fast, and secure login with a single tap
- Hardware-backed cryptographic authentication – no typing codes or waiting for SMS messages like with other authentication methods
- Protection from phishing, SIM-swapping and credential theft
- Compliance-ready, secure authentication for regulated environments
This enhancement is part of our ongoing commitment to making cloud-based data protection both a secure and effortless experience for our customers.
FIDO token authentication adds an extra layer of assurance to the DPoD marketplace, complementing existing strong identity management options and enabling customers to meet evolving regulatory and zero-trust requirements. With FIDO authentication now integrated, DPoD customers benefit from the same zero-trust, passwordless security model already trusted by leading enterprises and government agencies worldwide.
