KeySecure 8.0.1 Product Update
In our continued efforts to provide industry-leading data encryption and key management solutions, SafeNet is announcing the following changes to the KeySecure product line:
- k460 FIPS- Level 3 Certified Appliance:
Due to an end of life on the Dell R610 chassis, the k460 appliance will now utilize a Dell R320 chassis. Existing customers will be able to maintain support for their deployed use cases and performance needs and security and compliance, including FIPS 140-2 Level 3 support with its k6 internal Cryptographic card. For existing customers looking to add k460 appliances and run existing hardware in cluster, KeySecure 8.1 (available January 2015) will offer an in-field software update to existing KeySecure 6.6 hardware. RMA requests will be fulfilled with the new Dell R320 k460 chassis effective immediately.
- k450 High-Performance Appliance:
SafeNet will use the same Dell R320 chassis to offer customers a k450. It is intended as a direct replacement to the DataSecure i450 chassis. The k450 offers similar performance and capacity to the i460 without the requirement of a Pin Entry Device (PED) for appliance configuration.
- k250 Entry-Level Appliance:
Due to an end of life announcement from the manufacturer of the k/i150 chassis, SafeNet is announcing the KeySecure k250 (available January 2015) as its replacement. The k250 is intended as an entry-level appliance for small / medium customers.
- SafeNet Virtual KeySecure k150v Appliance for Virtual Environments:
Virtual KeySecure allows customers to manage keys, unify encryption, and enforce access control across these virtualized and cloud infrastructures. SafeNet offers Virtual KeySecure in AWS and VMware.
KeySecure 8.0.1 continues to offer customers a complete key management and data encryption platform with the following advantages:
- More Use Cases
- Take advantage of SafeNet’s growing ecosystem – Over 40 partners provide greater coverage of not only storage appliances but also applications (COTS or in-house), database servers and cloud encryption gateways.
- Access market leading KMIP storage/archive partners – In addition to the encryption capabilities offered by DataSecure, KeySecure 8.0.1 will allow customers to utilize KMIP (Key Management Interoperability Protocol) to monitor and manage keys residing on storage appliances from leading vendors including NetApp, Dell, HP, Hitachi, Brocade, Quantum, IBM and others.
- SafeNet Crypto Pack – a simple licensing option that transforms your key management appliance into an encryption server supporting the functionality currently associated with our DataSecure product line; including support for SafeNet’s encryption connectors ProtectApp, ProtectFile, ProtectDB and Tokenization Manager.
- Route to cloud – KeySecure 8.0.1 provides customers the ability to evolve from on premise or virtual data centers to private / public cloud. KeySecure 8.0.1 supports virtual appliances for VMware and Amazon Web Services Marketplace.
- Single, centralized platform for managing cryptographic content (keys and related data) and applications capable of running on-premises, in the cloud or hybrid environments.
- Enhanced Security– Integration with SafeNet’s Luna HSM – a hardware security module for added protection and key storage.
