End of FIPS Certification: SafeNet eToken 5300

The FIPS certification for the SafeNet eToken 5300 will be sunset by July 1st  2022 and will be moved from “Active” to “Historical” status by NIST.

Although the FIPS certificate for the eToken 5300 will continue to be valid for existing deployments, after July 1st  2022 these tokens can no longer be used in NEW procurements.

In view of this situation, and in order to ensure customers have continued compliancy, we recommend that new procurements should rely on the SafeNet eToken 5110+ FIPS, which is expected to be available for ordering in Q1 2022.

This recommendation is similar to the one already issued for the SafeNet eToken 5110 FIPS. The table below shows current token availability and certification status.
