Luna HSMs 7 (Network, PCIe and USB) are now showing as Implementation Under Test (IUT) for FIPS 140-3 Level 3 on the NIST IUT list. The Luna Network and PCIe HSMs are listed under “Luna K7 Cryptographic Module” and the USB HSM is listed under “Luna G7 Cryptographic Module”.

FIPS 140-3 is the latest iteration of the popular product focused security validation that will replace FIPS 140-2 from Sept 2021. FIPS140-2 has been in use since 1998, while FIPS 140-3 is more closely aligned to international standards and better suited to today’s technologies.
